Educational Assistant - Big Valley, AB

Clearview Public SchoolsRequires anEducational Assistant Clearview Public Schools invites applications for an Educational Assistant position at Big Valley School in Big Valley, AB. The position starts immediately and ends at the end of the 2024-25 school year. The position entails support for the kindergarten class. The position will be part time running on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for 6.5 hours per day. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and innovative individual who: has confidence working with students in need of learning and behavioural support; is committed to s upporting students’ growth in the areas of cognition, communication, physical and social development; is solution focused and able to implement positive behaviour strategies in response to student needs including but not limited to student regulation; support and implement teacher directed programming as well as recommendations from specialists including OT, SLP and inclusive education consultants; is able to work collaboratively as part of the learning team, but can also work independently taking initiative as needed. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with students with complex needs and hold an Educational Assistant Certificate and/or Supporting Individuals through Valued Attachments (SIVA), but these are not requirements. Educational Assistants receive a competitive salary of $17.56 to $24.30 per hour. The successful candidate will work in a learning environment focused on student success.
