Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this position.DescriptionThe Clearbrook Golden Age Society is currently looking to fill the position of General Manager to manage and direct the affairs of our 111 Unit Condominium plus two floors of Commercial Businesses known as Garden Park Tower in Abbotsford, B.C. This position is a full-time position and will be available in early 2025. The purposes of Clearbrook Golden Age Society are:Provide and maintain a multi-purpose facility which will make available:Residential accommodations for retired or semi-retired persons;A community center for cultural, recreational, educational and spiritual activities;Space and locations for the provision of goods and services that may be of particular benefit or interest to retired or semi-retired persons.Advocate for and provide services to meet the needs of the community of senior citizens by providing facilities and programs that foster personal growth, self-worth, and a sense of well-being in mind, body and spirit.Promote and undertake its activities in accordance with traditional Judeo-Christian principles.The General Manager is directly responsible to the Board of Directors ('Board') and ensures that all Board decisions and the society's policies and standards are carried out.The specific duties of the General Manager shall include but are not limited to the following:In concert with the Board Chair, to prepare Board meeting agendas.To recommend senior staff appointments, in concert with the Personnel Committee of the Board.To supervise all staff for high efficiency, high level of service, and high morale.To be responsible for public relations including liaison between the Society and various agencies and levels of government.Along with the Board Chair, to be the Society's chief spokesperson in the community.In concert with the Finance Committee of the Board, to administer the execution, implementation and redemption of Life Leases and commercial leases according to Society Policies.To be responsible for program coordination and development.To be responsible, in concert with the Finance Committee of the Board, for:The financial administration of the Society and its operations, including the provision of monthly financial statements to the Board;The preparation of an annual budget;The prompt submission of all necessary reports.To prepare, maintain and implement a Handbook of Procedures for staff, volunteers and Board members.To attend all Board and Committee meetings as required.To make proposals, in concert with the Executive Committee of the Board, regarding any amendments to the Society Constitution, Bylaws and Mission Statement.To provide the Residents Advisory Council with advice and direction to ensure efficient administration of the residential units for the comfort of the residents.To recommend, in concert with the respective Board Committees, any changes in pricing/rates deemed necessary for the efficient and effective operation of all services and facilities.To ensure satisfactory performance of all service and maintenance contracts and to negotiate their renewals as directed by the Board.To develop and maintain a strategic plan to ensure future success for the Society in meeting its Vision and Mission. #J-18808-Ljbffr
