Position: Resource Teacher Location: D.R. D.R. Hamilton is a Nursery to Grade 9 school with 137 students located in the community of Cross Lake. The community is 282 km by road southeast of Thompson. The community offers services such as grocery store, motel, restaurants, northern store, nursing station, community hall, recreation centre and a beach area. Qualifications: Bachelor of Education degree and preferably a Masters’ Degree in Education or related field Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for) Manitoba Special Education certificate or certification in progress At least five years of teaching experience Previous experience as a Resource Teacher Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life Excellent understanding of current Manitoba curricula and differentiated instruction Knowledge and training in formal and informal assessment Familiar with appropriate educational programming Ability to complete provincial documentation requirements for appropriate educational programming Ability to interpret educational and cognitive assessments Willingness to be trained in intervention programs presently in place A commitment to continue to support on-going programs in the school Strong verbal and written communication skills Applicants are required to submit the following: cover letter current resume list of three professional references including email addresses and contact numbers, all of whom must have knowledge of the applicant’s performance in the applicant’s current or recent assignment Thank you for your interest; however, only applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.
