Position Summary: George Brown College is seeking a Director of Change Management to lead key initiatives that foster adaptability, engagement, and alignment with the college's values and enabling strategy. Reporting to the Executive Director, Talent Management, this role is essential in cultivating a change-ready culture and driving behavior transformation. As part of George Brown's extended leadership team, you will work closely with senior leaders to champion continuous improvement, innovation, and the college’s Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Indigenization (EDII) principles. Your expertise in people-centered change management and stakeholder engagement will help navigate disruptions, build resilience, and promote sustainable performance. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership: Provide senior leadership with guidance to foster a diverse and inclusive change-oriented culture. Develop and implement comprehensive change management strategies, frameworks, and processes that align with the college’s strategic direction, long-term goals, and commitment to equity and inclusion. Program Development and Oversight: Design and oversee the implementation of change programs, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities. Lead and manage major change initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Change Management Policy and Process Development: Develop and implement policies and processes that support change management, ensuring alignment with the college’s strategic goals, including its Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Indigenization (EDII) strategies, ethical standards, and a commitment to inclusive practices. Change Management Process Execution: Manage stakeholder analysis, training programs, communication plans, and resistance management efforts, ensuring all processes are designed with cultural competency and inclusivity in mind. Develop tools and resources that facilitate transitions and ensure alignment with the college's strategic direction and our values. Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and minimizing resistance. Facilitate workshops and focus groups to gather insights and build support for change. Team and Budget Management: Lead and develop a team of change management professionals. Oversee budgets for change initiatives and partner with external consultants, ensuring resources are aligned with strategic priorities, and current environment. Other duties as assigned. Contribute to other activities that support the college’s long-term vision. Educational and Experience Requirements: Master’s degree in Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, or a related field. Specialized training in change leadership models (e.g., PROSCI, ADKAR) and adult education. 10+ years of progressive experience in change management within a large, complex organization, preferably in higher education. Demonstrated success in leading large-scale transformation initiatives and managing cross-functional teams. Experience in developing and implementing change management frameworks. Strong understanding of equity, diversity, inclusion, and indigenization (EDII) principles in change management. Experience in budget management and resource allocation. Skills and Attributes: Broad leadership skills managing a diverse team of experienced individuals fostering collaboration and achieving strategic objectives. Extensive experience with change management methodologies such as PROSCI and ADKAR, with a focus on ensuring that all voices are heard and represented throughout the change process. Strong understanding of how to respond to internal environments while leading changes. Skilled in negotiation, facilitation, and influencing a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring decisions reflect the diverse needs and perspectives of the college community. Ability to develop and execute communication and engagement strategies that are accessible, inclusive, and culturally sensitive, ensuring equitable participation and support across all groups. Demonstrated emotional intelligence and deep cultural competency, allowing for empathetic leadership in diverse settings, and fostering a sense of belonging for all individuals. Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College’s priorities on diversity and equity. Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.
