Reporting to the Sr. Director, Engineering (Mechanical & Thermal), you will play a pivotal role in leading and actively engaging in our Mechanical Engineering projects from inception to completion.In this position, you will be primarily responsible for all phases of engineering, including hands-on involvement in design, simulation, manufacturing, and verification, ensuring the optimal design and functionality of some of the most sophisticated and capable accelerated compute modules/systems in the world.Our ideal candidate will possess high levels of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability, with the flexibility to work on multiple cross-functional projects concurrently. Your ability to work well under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, coupled with your technical grasp, attention to detail, and organizational skills, will ensure you thrive in this role. Excellent communication skills are crucial for effectively liaising with contractors and clients, ensuring clear and concise information exchange.We seek a technically gifted engineer eager to be involved in hands-on work, including validating and verifying thermal designs, analyses, and simulations, and supporting production teams. This dynamic role is suited for someone passionate about technology and innovation, eager to contribute to groundbreaking projects, and ready to thrive in an inclusive culture that values every voice.Responsibilities:Participating in all stages of mechanical design and thermal analysis, from CAD modeling and simulation to creating manufacturing drawings and hands-on assembly verificationMentoring and leading junior staff while fostering a culture of autonomy and empowermentManaging project transitions from design to production, including direct interaction with vendors and oversight of subcontractorsTroubleshooting and optimizing designs, applying hands-on skills in thermal and mechanical system refinementsExecuting the corporate design validation test plan (DVTP) and documenting artifact validationsSupporting design reviews of mechanical and thermal designs prior to baseline releaseEnhancing existing product thermal performance and electro-mechanical part optimizationSeeking out and building valuable relationships with third-party design companiesQualifications:3-4+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical or thermal engineering, focused on electronics packaging and thermal management systems, preferably in the military or aerospace industries.A post-secondary degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering, or a related field, is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.Master's degree in a relevant field is considered an assetExpertise in engineering Mechanical CAD design such as SOLIDWORKS (primary) or CATIACapability/experience with Solid Works Flow, Siemens Star CCM+, ANSYS Icepack thermal analysis/simulation will be a significant asset to this positionExperience in electronics packaging employing innovative thermal management solutions for high reliability operating in harsh environmentsIn-depth understanding of design/environmental standards such as MIL-STD-810 or DO-160Advanced skills in the design of intricate metal assemblies and embedded thermal management solutionsProven ability to mentor junior staff and inspire a collaborative environmentServe as a key lieutenant to the Sr. Director, helping to manage the team and drive cultural change towards more effective and innovative engineering practicesYou must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.WOLF is a military and aerospace manufacturer requiring strict adherence to CGP and ITAR requirements.
