Vanderlande has recently built a large advanced automated warehouse for one of the largest retailers in the world in Canada.

You will play a pivotal role in our support of this state-of-the-art warehouse. You will work closely with various teams to ensure swift troubleshooting when incidents arise.

The ideal candidate for this position has a strong understanding of warehouse operations, is comfortable with high-tech systems and automation, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

As a Controls Support Engineer. You will become a technical expert and will be given more and moreresponsibilities.In addition to training, you and your team are responsible for quickly resolving errors and other problems with our customers' systems. You track and resolve incidents and Problems and you are responsible for logging and monitoring these tickets in our service management tool. If an incident cannot be solved on the spot, you coordinate the incident to the relevant specialists. After the incident has been remediated, analyze the cause of the incident and work with your team to come up with solutions to prevent a recurrence. The majority of these support tasks are carried out 24/7 from our office via VPN connections. For our local service organizations (worldwide), you and your colleagues are the point of contact for High-level operating software related problems that cannot be solved locally. You will therefore be an important link between the various service organizations and internal departments, while regularly communicating directly with customers

Essential Functions (Job Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Incident- management for Vanderlande designed material handling solutions
  • Registration and processing of customer inquiries in the ITSM system
  • Participation in ITIL driven service department
  • Analyzing root causes
  • Continuous improvement to optimize logistics processes
  • Service Helpdesk Team training assistance
  • Participate in standby shifts (Weekends)

Required Education and Experience:

  • As a Controls Support Engineer, you have a lot of contact with customers, so it is important that you have good communication skills. You are good at analyzing problems, you ask the right questions, you listen to the customer and you can translate your findings into a technical solution.
  • Training in a technical field
  • Relevant work experience is preferred, but we are also willing to train you to become a controls expert!
  • You have a strong affinity with ICT Infra , SQL, PLSQL
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • You can make yourself understood in English
  • You are willing to work in a shift schedule together with your team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred skills in understanding and designing PLC programs

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday day shift.

This position supports sites with 24/7 operations, untraditional hours may be necessary from time to time.

Travel:

This position requires no travel outside of any initial minimal offsite training.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Although the Controls Engineers predominantly work in the office, they also spend time in the distribution center, where they sometimes handle packages or automatic equipment such as conveyor systems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed the material handling system, mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The Controls Engineer will encounter mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment. Ear protection should be worn.

Salary range:

This is a full-time, nonexempt position, eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The salary range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Salary range for this position is CAD$95,000 to CAD$100,000
