Reports to: General Manager
Step into the dynamic world of the Area Manager for Vancouver & Vancouver Island.
This role is more than just overseeing traffic control projects—it's about sculpting the landscape of safety and efficiency. Picture yourself at the intersection of business development, contract management, and operational functions.
Primary Accountabilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Business development and contract management.
- Setting up and monitoring schedules for operations, dispatch, health and safety and TCS.
- Monitoring project statuses and deadlines.
- Foster a safety-first workplace culture consistent with our client's core purpose and values.
- Manage day-to-day operations across multiple sites in Vancouver Island ensuring efficient traffic control services.
- Collaborate with the Traffic Control Supervisor to meet operational requirements and maintain high quality service delivery.
- Drive business growth by maintaining and strengthening existing relationships, as well as identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Conduct sales activities, including following up on new leads, monitoring bid platforms, and networking to develop ongoing relationships.
- Work closely with the Health and Safety Manager to ensure regular site inspections and that audits are conducted, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations.
- Mentor and support staff, promoting a positive “CAN-DO” attitude and providing performance feedback.
- Provide business insights and reports to all senior management, informing decision making, strategy and planning.
- Collaborate with recruiters on operational staffing needs, including communicating shortages, facilitating onboarding and coordinating training.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
- Primary site representative for the organization, responsible for all site level client, public, labor and subcontractor interface as it relates to traffic management.
- Leadership of day-to-day on site traffic activities.
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with contract requirements.
- TMP/TMM specifications and associated OH&S regulations.
- Effective implementation site safety plan and traffic management plan.
- Scheduling, planning and resource allocation on the project and ensuring project plans are followed.
- Ensuring daily, weekly and monthly reporting is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Advising the Project Manager of any changed conditions encountered on the site and suggesting appropriate course of action.
- Coordinating equipment servicing and repairs with mechanical operations
- Following collective agreement requirements and coordinating with union business agents.
- Continual optimization of all works to enhance safety, profitability and quality
- 3 years of experience in traffic or operations management.
- Experience with fleet management is advantageous.
- Experience leading and building high-performance teams.
