The Professional Health Education Unit with the School of Continuing Education has one of the most diverse offerings of post degree and diploma programs and courses in Canada to support health care providers in meeting their professional goals. These education opportunities inspire students through a powerful combination of academic excellence, practical application and personal learning experiences.

Applications are invited for sessional positions to teach with the Gerontology and Hospice Palliative Care post-diploma certificate programs. The Gerontology and Hospice Palliative Care programs challenge students to apply compassion, dedication, leadership and expert knowledge when working with clients in these specialized areas. Course topics include:

  • Older adult health
  • Pain assessment and management
  • Palliative symptoms
  • Communication
  • Leadership
  • Ethics

Courses are scheduled to run on campus once or twice per week and follow the MacEwan University Academic Calendar. We are seeking candidates with recent clinical and/or teaching experience in the specialized nursing areas listed above.

Interested applicants should submit a cover letter highlighting their teaching philosophy, a curriculum vitae/resume and the names of three professional references.
