Director, Labour Relations Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada The Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) is a delegated administrative authority with a mission to improve electrical safety for the well-being of the people of Ontario. With the unprecedented changes in technology and the electrification transformation underway in Ontario, it’s an exciting time to be part of the ESA as it evolves its role as a valued part of the electricity ecosystem. Reporting to the Vice President, People and Culture, the Director of Labour Relations will lead the ESA’s labour relations function in the development and maintenance of a labour environment that enhances the organization’s ability to meet its ongoing mandate. They are a solutions-oriented, strategic, and hands-on leader responsible for delivering high quality labour relations counsel, guidance, and support. As the ideal candidate you bring diplomacy and mature judgement and a collaborative and interest-based approach to dispute resolution. You are a forward thinker, strategic and an excellent communicator. You have strong business acumen and the ability to foster and maintain relationships with senior leaders, operational managers and union representatives. The ideal candidate also brings 7-12 years of experience in labour relations in a highly unionized environment and an understanding of relevant legislation.
