Your Opportunity
BDO Canada is planning to hire a Digital UX Copywriter, for a contract-opportunity, starting in late November 2024, ending July 31st, 2025. You will be responsible for crafting user-centered copy that enhances the overall experience across our digital products. You’ll work closely with UX designers, product managers, and developers to write clear, concise, and compelling copy that guides users intuitively and effectively. The ideal candidate is not only an exceptional writer but also a strategic thinker who can translate brand tone and values into meaningful user interactions. Here's how you can be successful in this opportunity:
User-Centered Copywriting : Write and edit engaging, accessible, and actionable copy across all areas of the digital self-service website, including landing pages, product/service descriptions, help articles, and FAQs.
Enhancing User Journeys : Collaborate closely with UX designers, product managers, and developers to create user flows that simplify self-service tasks, helping users reach solutions quickly and efficiently.
Content Strategy & Planning : Develop and maintain a content strategy that aligns with user needs and business goals. Ensure content is optimized for discoverability, readability, and usability across all digital touchpoints.
Consistency & Brand Alignment : Uphold a consistent brand voice and tone across all self-service copy, adapting language to suit various audience segments and ensuring accessibility for diverse users.
UX Writing for Functionality : Draft concise micro copy, including labels, buttons, tooltips, and error messages, that guides users intuitively through the site and provides assistance without friction.
Research & Testing : Conduct user research and A/B testing on copy effectiveness to gather insights and iterate on content for improved engagement and user satisfaction.
Performance Tracking & Improvement : Collaborate with analytics teams to monitor content performance, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions to enhance user engagement and satisfaction.

Your experience and education
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
3+ years of experience as a UX copywriter or content strategist, preferably with a focus on public-facing digital platforms.
Proven experience writing for a self-service or customer support website in a managed services or technical environment.
Excellent understanding of UX principles, content hierarchy, and readability standards.
Strong command of web writing best practices, including SEO and accessibility.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with UX and A/B testing tools (e.g., Optimizely, Google Optimize) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics).
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
