The Senior Software Engineer at Equitable Bank plays a pivotal role in our cutting-edge digital initiatives. Key responsibilities involve crafting, building, and supporting RESTful/SOAP APIs and ETL solutions tailored for our dynamic web and mobile online channels. In addition to technical prowess, the incumbent will share their expertise through guiding and mentoring fellow software developers.Within the Agile Product Pods, each holds the responsibility of delivering value by optimizing performance against the product metrics within its domain. These Pods immerse themselves in understanding user needs, consistently prioritizing tasks to address the most valuable aspects promptly. Clear accountability metrics ensure that these decisions align seamlessly with overarching business priorities.Rather than imposing a rigid product roadmap from the top-down, our leadership team establishes business goals and identifies areas of opportunity and key strategic initiatives. Subsequently, every Pod must strike a balance between developing new features and iteratively enhancing existing products on its quarterly roadmap. The ability to adapt, driven by insights gained sprint-by-sprint, is paramount. This necessitates a continuous responsiveness to market shifts, evolving user requirements, technological advancements, business imperatives, emerging opportunities, and customer feedback.The Work! Asses and clarify user experience and requirements (10%)Support experience design, functional requirements and digital product definition by providing technical solutionsAnalyze and provide feedback to evolve creative designs and functional requirements to define a customer centric solutionContribute to technical/non-functional requirementsTechnology Design (20%)Define an integrated, RESTful/SOAP API or ETL solution design with support from front-end and back-end system teamsCreate design artifacts using RAML and JSON Schema standardsAPI Development (50%)Develop and support Interoperability APIs and MicroService applicationsPlan and estimate development tasksParticipate in daily delivery SCRUMs to ensure Sprint delivery progression and resolution of issuesConduct unit testing on developed code, with automated testing where relevantDevelop and maintain comprehensive architecture designs and technical documentationParticipate in group and peer code review sessionActively involved during QA triage to recommend and provide fixesApplication Support (10%)Assist incident management teams by troubleshooting and resolving production incidentsTechnical Leadership (10%)Mentor and train other developersProvide technical expertise to make code design and implementation decisionsKnowledge/Skill RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field7+ years of experience in J2EE/JEE software delivery or software development, including multiple frameworks such as Hibernate, Spring MVC, Spring Security, SAML, OAuth, OIC2+ years of hands-on experience building RESTful/SOAP API solutionsProven experience in API management tools, like MuleSoft API Manager (preferably) or Apigee EdgeExperience with configuration, deployment and testing of enterprise software applicationsExperience with SQL Server database, SQL and T-SQLPrevious working experience with Mule ESB or MuleSoft Anypoint Platform is a definitive plusExperience with bug tracking and collaboration software: Jira, Confluence or similarExperience with Unit Testing frameworks and tools (Junit, MUnit or TestNG) and source control software (CVS, SVN, Git or similar)Experience working in the financial industry and knowledge of banking products is a definite assetSelf-starter who can take a concept and drive it through to the design and implementationStrong oral and written communication skills#INDEWhat we offer (For full-time permanent roles) Competitive discretionary bonus?
