The Department of Cellular & Physiological Sciences (www.cellphys.ubc.ca), in collaboration with the Edwin S. Leong Centre for Healthy Aging (https://healthyaging.med.ubc.ca/) and the Life Sciences Institute (www.lsi.ubc.ca), invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. Our internationally recognized research faculty, part of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia, have strengths investigating the molecular, cellular, and systems processes relevant to complex biological function and human disease.
We are seeking an outstanding candidate using innovative/creative approaches to investigate fundamental physiological mechanisms relevant to ageing and disease. The successful applicant must have a PhD, MD/PhD or equivalent, with excellent communication skills, a track record of excellence in research, and a commitment to innovative teaching. They will be expected to establish an independent research program focused on fundamental physiological mechanisms in health and disease over the course of the lifespan and to compete for national and international operating grants. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to our undergraduate and graduate programs in cellular and molecular physiology.
