Job SummaryThis position is responsible for working directly with both external and internal stakeholders to ensure that all projects are completed safely within budget and defined scope. The Electrical Estimator/Project Coordinator must be an effective communicator with the leadership skills necessary to motivate professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results on every project.ResponsibilitiesPreparing estimates for various commercial & industrial construction projectsEngaging in various responsibilities from budget analysis, issuing subcontracts, scope reviews, requisitions, change management and ongoing communication to complete projectsScheduling drawing submittals, hardware and delivery of material to jobsites as well as submitting monthly progress claims and approving invoicesConsistently meeting client requirements for safety, quality, schedule, and cost Recognizing key issues and acting in a timely manner to expedite solutions both internally and externallyInterpreting construction drawings and specifications to understand Project requirements and interfacing with Clients Accurately preparing material take-offs, estimates, bid letters, and schedules in a timely mannerUtilizing estimating software and expanding software capabilities Soliciting subcontractor and supplier quotations Preparing construction schedules Other duties as assignedTechnical RequirementsElectrical engineering/technology background required (Degree or diploma from an accredited institution)Exposure to working in general contracting or the construction management sector considered a definite assetIndustrial experience would be considered an assetProficient experience with Microsoft Project, Project cost control software and project management software requiredBusiness RequirementsExceptional time management and organizational skills are requiredDesire to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and customer-focused environmentCultural Requirements Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with individuals of various disciplinesA team player with the desire to work collaboratively with others to improve existing processesAs a member of the OSCO Construction Group, FCC offers a comprehensive compensation package including health and dental coverage, life insurance, RRSP and tax-free savings account options.
