EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST - PROJECT MANAGEMENT (2 POSITIONS):

($74,900 - $88,118 Annually)

POSITION SUMMARY

Our Human Resources Branch plays a mission-critical role within this complex environment by ensuring that BC Housing has a qualified, committed and engaged workforce in place to deliver
on its mandate. As an Employee Engagement Specialist, you’ll contribute to the achievement of business objectives by supporting the development, implementation, coordination and
improvement of a broad range of employee programs and initiatives. With comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of employee engagement, project management, and internal communication, you will work with a fast-moving and highly collaborative team to build and deliver programs designed to improve the employee experience, foster connection, and build a strong and inclusive culture. Championing collaboration and inclusion with multiple teams and branches, you will provide project management services using your understanding of employee engagement frameworks, project management expertise, and principles of equity, diversity and inclusion. You will prepare project charters, workplans and communication plans; establish goals and design consultation and change processes for employee programs including engagement, employee relations, occupational health and safety, and organizational change initiatives Engaging and able to connect with a broad range of people, you will coordinate and lead employee groups and training sessions, creating plans and agendas, scheduling across
branches, facilitating meetings and leading training. You’ll also assist with writing and editing HR materials, including workplace guidelines, policy, procedures and program outlines, ensuring messaging is clear, engaging, relevant and accessible for a broad range of employees. With a balance of creative thinking and attention to detail, you’ll coordinate processes to gather input and develop reports, presentations, and action plans. Reporting to, and working closely with, the Manager, Employee Engagement, you’ll collaborate with colleagues both within HR and throughout the organization, building solid relationships and providing people-centred ideas, support and service on initiatives and programs. While weekly in-office days in our Burnaby location will be required, a primarily work-fromhome arrangement is available but not mandatory. Let’s discuss what works!

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The successful candidate will have the following:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

With a bachelor’s degree or extensive experience in communications, marketing, journalism, human resources, or another relevant field, and sound experience in the research, coordination, implementation, communication and administration of employee programs and initiatives for a dynamic, forward-thinking public sector organization, you’re poised for success in this role. Program development, project management and internal communication experience in an HR department of a complex, multi-faceted organization preferred. Alternatively, you’ll have an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Sound knowledge of the philosophies and practices related to employee engagement
    and communications.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Collaborative and detail-oriented project management abilities.
  • Confident and engaging facilitation skills.
  • Effective research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective administrative and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and skill in working with web editing programs and photo editing software is
    an asset.
  • Ability to create project plans and work schedules.
  • Ability to establish and maintain constructive working relationships with individuals and
    teams throughout the organization.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, tact, diplomacy and good judgment.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).
