Human Resources Generalist

ASCO’s HR Generalist is responsible for the overall leadership of all human resources activities of the ASCO Group of companies, including but not limited to, creating a culture that aligns with our corporate values, managing employee relations and establishing compensation & benefits policies, training and development programs and recruitment and retention strategies that meet the long-term growth objectives of the Company.Some of the HR Generalist responsibilities include:Recruiting and staffingHiring and onboardingEmployee Engagement and RetentionPerformance ManagementEmployee RelationsRecommending compensation and benefits policies.Candidates should have: At least five (5) years’ experience as a Human Resource Generalist or Human Resource Manager.Hold a Bachelor's degree, or as a minimum a post-secondary degree with specialization in human resource management.Preferably holding the CHRP designation.Strong recruiting and demonstrated ability to improve talent acquisition strategiesDemonstrated experience in performance management, talent acquisition and retention, benefits administration, and employee-management relations.Preferably having experience in the construction industry and knowledge of unionized environment.Advance knowledge of labor laws and regulationsStrong organizational, critical thinking and communications skillsHave excellent communication skills in English and in French (oral and written)Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and be detailed oriented in a fast-paced environmentSuperior working knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Employment Benefits:Competitive employee compensationHealth, Dental, Vision and Disability benefits programEmployee Family Assistance ProgramMatching RRSP programProfit sharingPerformance and merit-based recognitionHealth and Wellness (flexible hours, working from home opportunities)Education reimbursement programProfessional and career development opportunities
