Location: Kapuskasing, ON (Sawmill)

Responsibilities:

  1. Promote and support the Health & Safety programs to increase employee awareness
  2. Maintain a communications program to keep your team informed regarding mill and department priorities.
  3. Support compliance with collective agreement and sound union/management/employee relations
  4. Build and maintain a business relationship with stakeholders (managers, supervisory teams and employees), understand their needs and issues and play a key-role in the realization of their business objectives.
  5. Assist and coach managers and supervisory teams in the day to day challenges pertaining to employee management as well as the application of HR policies and programs
  6. Participate, in collaboration with stakeholders in the identification of training needs for both staff and unionized employees

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, or Business Administration.
  2. Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP is an asset)
  3. 5+ years experience in an industrial unionized environment
  4. Business acumen, sound judgement, strong analytical skills and ability to multi-task
  5. Leadership, interpersonal and communications skills
  6. Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and best practices
  7. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  8. Bilingual: English and French (spoken and written) – an asset
