Job description and requirements Human Resources Manager Create value at TC Transcontinental At TC Transcontinental, we've got it made, and that's because of the expertise of our team.   We are currently looking for a full-time Human Resources Manager to support the Whitby packaging plant, located at 201 South Blair St, Whitby, Ontario. Reporting to the General Manager, the Human Resources Manager will provide strategic leadership and coaching for an employee population of 185 salaried and hourly staff. This hands-on Manager will guide a team of one HR professional, with an emphasis on partnering with local operations and corporate HR to accomplish strategic and commercial objectives for the business.   If you strive to be amongst the best, are a collaborative team-player who considers trust and respect important in building real partnerships and if open and honest communication is something you value, we want to meet you.   When your actions lead to success.   Participate in the development of the organization’s programs and goals as a strategic partner but particularly from the perspective of the impact on people. Translate the strategic and tactical business plans of the organization and its various departments into HR strategic and operational plans. Act as a change agent to influence integration of technologies, processes, and structure by focusing on organizational effectiveness, accountability, continuous improvement, and team development. Develop staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the organization for positions of responsibility. Provide direction and leadership to human resources staff in the performance of duties, work priorities, skill development and goal achievement. Implement performance management programs which identify competency and knowledge gaps, develop people, reward performance, and align with strategic goals. Develop and maintain effective training and development programs which prepare employees for more significant responsibilities. Maintain compliance with all applicable federal and state employment laws. Develop and administer compensation programs which motivate and reward performance.
