Position Overview

The Regional Sales Associate is a pivotal role directly influencing the future of RS Technologies. As a member of the sales team reporting directly to the Regional Sales Leadership, you will be responsible for the sales of RS's composite utility structures. This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team exercising judgment and initiative.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Regional Sales Leader Direct Reports: None Sales Territory: Canada

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive sales of our utility structures in the designated territory, creating a comprehensive strategy for achieving revenue targets and annual company objectives.
  • Present and sell RS Technologies' utility and communication poles in the defined territory through manufacturers' representatives and distributor channels, emphasizing customer base diversification, product mix selling, and backlog maintenance.
  • Use our Salesforce CRM system daily as the primary tool for managing customer information.
  • Deliver high-level responsiveness in both remote office and field environments.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships through various communication tools, ensuring detail, quality, and accuracy.
  • Influence customer decision-making by delivering technical information through effective presentations, financial analysis documents, and total cost of ownership models.
  • Identify, develop, and support new account activity, collaborating with other sales team members, various RS departments, and external resources to achieve mutually beneficial goals.
  • Manage and develop account relationships throughout the customer organization, regularly evaluating the effectiveness of RS products and services.
  • Represent RS at industry associations to enhance the company's image and foster additional business opportunities.
  • Assist in coordinating activities related to tradeshow participation when required, always maintaining a high standard of personal and professional conduct while adhering to organizational policies, rules, and regulations.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a business, financial, technical, or engineering field.
  • Proven sales track record of consultative selling with 5+ years in the electric transmission or distribution (T&D) industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of current industry challenges and solutions, demonstrating measurable growth and success.
  • Expertise in developing and executing account strategies for both new and existing customers.
  • In-depths Salesforce proficiency and financial selling tools to justify the value of products.
  • Demonstrated success across all sales disciplines, including value proposition communication, product positioning, account strategy, new customer development, and deal closing.
  • Experience managing manufacturers' sales representatives across multiple markets.
  • Documented results in new business development to selected target accounts, with a skill for growing existing large account relationships through new applications and solutions.
  • Experience managing projects through internal departments, including engineering and customer service.
  • Proficient in written and oral communication, with strong problem-solving skills and a high sense of urgency.
  • ROI-driven approach to marketing with strong attention to detail.
  • Deal structuring and closing experience, including programmatic selling, selling manufacturing capacity, and complex/consultative selling.

Working Conditions/Other Requirements:

  • Deals with a wide range of end-users, specifiers and contractors in the utility and communication markets.
  • Ability to meet jobsite requirements for observation of and assistance with customer product installation procedures in field applications.
  • Proficient with computers and software including MS Office Suite.
  • Experience using Salesforce is a must.
  • Ability and willingness to travel (> 50%) as required to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Own transportation required.
  • Ability to work from a home office setting.

JOB TYPE: Full-time

WORK LOCATION: Remote with required travel.

COMPENSATION: A competitive compensation package, including a base salary and commission (~70/30), and full benefits.
