The Opportunity:Our client, a not-for-profit organization with a mission to help individuals and communities to gain equal opportunities in Canadian society, is looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist. The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full life cycle recruitment process, plays an integral role by understanding the needs of hiring managers and sourcing the best talent to fill open positions. Continuously partners with managers to design, refine and implement innovative recruiting strategies. Areas of specialization include creative ways to source top talent and increase brand awareness, screening candidates, promoting the value of working for the company to help them attract great candidates who fit our client’s culture and can support their missionWhat You’ll Be Doing:Works closely with managers to gain comprehensive understanding of hiring needsManage full cycle recruitment processPartner with HR team to refine/update recruitment documentsDevelop and release job postings on platforms, such as social media and job boardsScreen resumes, qualify, interview, and manage candidates throughout recruitment cyclePerform reference checksFacilitate the offer process including background checks Manage onboarding and new hire processAssists in development and maintenance of job descriptions including physical demands analysisEnsures all screening, hiring and selection is done in accordance with employment laws and collective bargaining agreementPerforms other projects and duties as assignedWhat You’ll Need to Be Successful:Degree/diploma in Human Resources or related field Minimum 2 years’ recruiting experience and knowledge, preferably in non-profit sectorExperience developing recruitment strategiesAbility to manage wide range of relationships with variety of stakeholdersDetailed oriented and resourceful self-starter with demonstrated ability to take initiativeStrong time management, organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skillsAble to work both independently with minimal supervision and effectively with other team membersStrong computer literacy and willingness to improve skills A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check (completed when an offer is made)Possesses valid Class G driver’s license and access to vehicle
