RESEARCH AND ACADEMIC INNOVATION  

NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for someone dedicated to finding ways forward to join our Faculty of Research and Academic Innovation as the Manager, Academic Quality, Development, & Institutional Research .

Reporting to the Dean, Research and Academic Innovation, the Manager, Academic Quality, Development, & Institutional Research is a member of the Research and Innovation (RAI) Senior leadership team and a member of the College’s Senior Academic Leadership Team, SALT. The mission of the Research and Academic Innovation portfolio is to continually improve and grow the learning product and experience by evolving the curriculum, developing faculty, embracing quality assurance, leading educational technologies use, and fostering applied research. This role plays a key part in achieving this mission.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Create a long-term plan to build new programming and credentials to broaden the program mix to ensure NorQuest meets the needs of industry and student demand. 
  • Provide expertise and leadership to faculty, staff, and subject matter experts engaged in program development and renewal, to ensure quality programming is produced and maintained.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the overall direction and delivery of all aspects of Program Evaluations & Quality Assurance.
  • Lead market research to identify new program opportunities in a rapidly changing competitive landscape and outside of our current lanes.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, such as Deans, as well as external stakeholders to obtain input and direction and establish partnerships.
  • Ensure that existing programs undergo a program of cyclical review and updating to stay current and competitive.
  • Provide leadership and oversight of the academic quality assurance framework, taking a strategic view of the accreditation, academic learning outcomes, graduate and success indicators, and quality assurance processes, analyzing them as a whole, identifying and capitalizing on synergies, and making recommendations in the spirit of continuous improvement.
  • Provide expertise and leadership to faculty, staff, and subject matter experts engaged in program development and renewal, to ensure quality programming is produced and maintained.
  • Advocate, influence, and liaise with applicable government ministries throughout the development, submission, and approval cycles of new and existing programs.
  • Provide direction for the planning, growth, reporting, ease, and accessibility of the Institutional Research Office. Including the support of metrics for the colleges strategic plan reporting and annual survey cycle.
  • Manage relationships by understanding organizational strategy, understanding organizational needs, translating needs to competencies, matching the right process to faculty needs, managing process, verifying stakeholder expectations are being met, and managing the overall program evaluation and development process.
  • Ensure metrics & associated indicators (quantitative or qualitative) are collected to address and assist institutional goals and strategies as well as government requirements.
  • Support work with Senior Leaders to identify strategic information needs for a wide range of operational and management initiatives and to analyze data in response to those identified needs.
  • Develop and recommend strategic direction for new program development, Quality assurance and Institutional Research, coordinating goals, resources, and results.
  • Understand and executes on complex, interrelated, fast-moving initiatives that require interdependence and coordinated efforts.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Master’s Degree in Education or related, training/certification in program evaluation, data analytics or accreditation experience is an asset.
  • 5+ years of directly related experience.
  • 3-5 years in academic leadership roles.
  • 8+ years of direct teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.  
  • Progressive experience in senior post-secondary administration, especially experience leading innovation in higher education.
  • Experience in program or product development and administration 
  • Proven experience and success managing multi-disciplinary academic initiatives.

SALARY:  $111,219-$139,052 anually,reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a fulltimepermanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
