Job Requirements / Description

Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Manager, Human Resources, this position is responsible for supporting our Great Canadian Casino Vancouver and Elements Casino Surrey sites, delivering HR services including data entry and other administrative duties. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

  1. Processes HR paperwork; inputs data into the HR system; maintains site HR files
  2. Provides general HR information to team members
  3. Prepares team member communications as directed
  4. Provides administrative support including but not limited to photocopying, faxing, directing incoming calls, directing incoming mail
  5. May act as payroll back up at some locations
  6. May conduct pre-screening activities and schedule interviews; may prepare offers
  7. Maintains site bulletin boards as per schedule
  8. Ensures HR forms are available and up to date
  9. May attend OH&S or Staff Committee meetings; takes, prepares and distributes minutes
  10. Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  11. Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members
  12. Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  13. Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Education and Qualifications:
High School Diploma; post-secondary education in HR an asset or a suitable combination of education and experience. HR Designation an asset. Minimum 1 year of experience in HR or administrative support. Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service-oriented communication. Computer literacy in MS Office; JDE or HR systems experience an asset. Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License.

Work Environment Considerations:
Regular office and casino environment, non-traditional work hours may be required in certain circumstances. Successful candidate will need to travel to each site and they will be required to be on-site.
